What we believe
The Bible
We believe the Bible is God's word, given by His Spirit and trustworthy in what it says. We read it together, and we let it shape us rather than editing it to fit us.
God
One God, eternally existing as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. One divine nature that consist of three distinct persons, that are inseparable. Who are completely united in their actions, their will, and in their mind.
Jesus
We believe Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, worked miracles among ordinary people, and died on the cross as the only sufficient sacrifice for the sin of the world. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and lives to intercede for us. He will return in glory.
Salvation
We believe every person has sinned and cannot repair that on their own. Jesus did what we could not do. Anyone who turns from sin and trusts Him is forgiven and made new. It is a gift, never a wage, and no life is too far gone for it.
Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is present, active, and speaking. Scripture describes a baptism in the Holy Spirit given to believers, an empowering for life and witness that deepens the fruit of the Spirit, grows us into the likeness of Christ, and brings the gifts of the Spirit into ordinary use among ordinary people. We make room for the Spirit to work, and we do it without pressure, spectacle, or anyone being singled out.
